Hey everyone! I’m looking for some advice, we're currently getting started with Dovetail as our primary insights hub. Specifically, I’m interested in how others have integrated quantitative data into Dovetail, I primarily work with voice of the customer programs, brand trackers etc. I’d love to catch up with researchers in a similar position and hear about your approach, any best practices, and what’s worked well for you.
Hey Louis Stevens thanks for starting this thread. I haven't pulled our quant data into Dovetail yet but am eager to hear how others may respond
Honestly, our team just doesn’t use Dovetail for quant. The tool is not set up to support even basic survey data. We’ve tried some hacks with table views and charts in the past but we found it to be too much effort for the outcome you get. We do quant analysis in other tools and then add final reports to Dovetail as it also serves as our insights library 🤷🏻♀️
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Sofya Bourne. I’m already encountering some of the issues you mentioned, and we plan to continue conducting our quantitative analysis in other tools, with final reports uploaded to Dovetail to enable our stakeholders to self-serve insights. When it comes to uploading reports, have you found a specific format that works best? Are you utilizing the templates within Dovetail, or do you typically upload PDFs/Google Slides/PowerPoint presentations?
Louis Stevens we typically use slide decks as this is in line with our company culture and how insights are usually presented out to stakeholders at different levels. Dovetail converts google slides and ppts into pdfs by default though. We do use Dovetail insights functionality for projects we run in Dovetail but we don’t present from the insights, they’re there for reading/ watching. There’s a feature request with Dovetail atm to enable their insights be viewed/ created as slide decks actually.
