Recurring Dovetail SSO Login Issues and Solutions Needed

Hi everyone, We’ve been encountering a recurring issue with Dovetail SSO login for some of our users, and I’m hoping someone here might have experienced the same and found a solution. Here’s what happens:

  1. 1.

    A user tries to log in using SSO.

  2. 2.

    They receive the error message: "Contact your IT: Client authentication failed."

  3. 3.

    We double-check with our IT team, and the user is confirmed to still be part of the correct user group that should have SSO access.

  4. 4.

    I've also checked to make sure they are logging into the current URL, etc.

What we’ve tried: Sometimes, we can resolve this by:

  • Removing them from the SSO group,

  • Adding them back to the group,

  • Deleting their Dovetail account,

  • Re-inviting them to Dovetail.

While this workaround sometimes works, it’s frustratingly manual and doesn’t address the root cause. It seems to happen to random users on a regular basis. Has anyone else experienced this issue and managed to figure out what’s causing it or found a more sustainable fix? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
