📥 Suggest that when a contact is deleted and then recovered that the fields are also recovered. It's a ton of unnecessary clicks to restore individual components of a contact.
Hi Maegan Pisman - I've just done a test where I enter some field data, delete the contact, and then restored the contact with the same field data. Could you show me an example of what you're experiencing specifically?
Robert Hung Could you test on your end if the same occurs if you delete a Contact where the fields were empty? If it doesn't do it in that case, then I'm not sure why it was behaving differently for me!
oh, actually, the other difference is that it was the first Contact I created for my client. So perhaps it behaves differently when there's no other Contact card for the system to reference.
If you are deleting the only contact in your database, you will be prompted with this warning that is telling you that contact fields will also be deleted
However, deleted fields simply get allocated to the trash and their data is recoverable. See my video for an example
Got it. I don’t recall the message, but in this case the feedback remains the same. If I then go to Trash and restore the Contact, the default should be for the Fields to be restored with it. Because, if I didn’t want the Fields restored I would just create a new Contact (start from scratch). It does make sense that if the only Contact is deleted that the Fields would be deleted and so new Contacts would need new Fields. My feedback is specifically for restoration flow. Hope that makes sense!
Yep the last video was what I saw in my case 👍🏻
That makes perfect sense! It's great feedback and we'll definitely take it on board. In the mean time, we hope the workaround is sufficient, and we'll do better to make sure any deletions are better communicated throughout the app. Thanks again for the feedback 😄
