Hey team, I'm currently having an issue with transcripts. I've been waiting for over 40 minutes for one to generate — which hasn’t happened before. I deleted the video and re-uploaded it, tried using an incognito window, and followed all the usual troubleshooting steps. On my last attempt, I even received a message saying transcripts only work with videos — which is exactly what I’m uploading. Is there an issue with transcripts at the moment? Also, a bit of feedback — it feels like Dovetail keeps rolling out new AI features and other stuff, but the core functionalities we rely on to do our work are becoming increasingly unstable. The platform is getting noticeably heavier and slower, which makes it difficult to work efficiently. Anyway, apart from that — any idea what’s going on with transcripts? Thanks,

Regarding the issue with the transcript not being generated, I'm just testing this out on my end now - would you be able to confirm how long the video is? Thank you!

Just an update, I was able to successfully upload and transcribe a video in my test workspace. That said, it was only 3 minutes long and .mov format so any extra context on the length of the video as well as the format of the video that you're trying to upload would be helpful!

The upload finished (after almost 3h). But thank you for your help Shwe. I did see some other users having the same issue. So I was wondering if something with the recent update with transcription did not regressed the tool. But anyway thank you so much

Thanks for getting back to me! That's all good - I'm glad to hear that the upload has finished. Apologies again for any convenience caused by the wait. We did have performance issues last week due to an outage with our cloud provider but this should now be resolved. That said, definitely let us know if you notice the same issue come up again with any new uploads. 🙏
