Hey Dovetail. I almost always use the canvas board when I'm doing my analysis, but I'm struggling to figure out how to download (or copy) the text of multiple highlights within the canvas. I'm using some external AI in order to generate ideas and compare against my own insights, but I don't see any simple way to do this. When I download a "CSV with text", I get lots of duplicates and also some highlights that are just straight up missing. Can you help me figure out a way to do this without having to open up each highlight and copy and paste into an external document?
I have the same problem π
I came to surface the same challenge - I want to copy quotes from my canvas board to a word doc for my report, and I have to open the data file and find the specific quote, highlight, and copy it. It would be so helpful to be able to be able to copy text directly from the canvas. (semi-related, i would also like to be able to edit notes directly in Canvas mode (any any highlight view) that would propagate back to the data file. I will find typos or incorrectly transcribed words during analysis, but it takes much too long to open the file up each time I want to edit it)
Hi Alia, Juandiego, and Katie: I was able to replicate that experience. I selected these 23 highlights and then exported them as a CSV with text. There were 47 items exported because some have multiple tags applied to the same data. My recommendation would be to the filter the export by tag to narrow down the list.
