Exploring Metadata in Dovetail: Chart Limitations and Alternatives

Hello Dovetail folks- I've added metadata fields to insights and data objects that I'd like to be able to track. I was hoping to use charts to do this, but it seems that charts doesn't access metadata- is there another mechanism for exploring metadata? TIA for your help!

Hi Marja, Thanks for reaching out.👋 At the moment, in Charts, you can filter by selected fields to explore key themes across segments of your data. That said, I understand your use case might go beyond what Charts currently supports.
I’d be happy to create a feature request for this. Could you tell me a bit more about how you’d ideally use insight metadata in charts? For example: ** Which metadata fields are most important to you (e.g. category, priority, custom tags, etc.) ** What kind of chart(s) you’d like to see (bar, line, pie, etc.) ** What interactions you expect (filtering, drill-down, grouping, time series) ** Whether real-time or periodic updates matter Thanks so much for helping us understand.
