Urgent help needed Hey Dovetail. I have raised the lack of analytics before as an important issue for us. senior management have asked us for some stats, e.g. how many user interviews we have completed this year and there is no way I can find to get the data from Dovetail. It should be simple to filter in the analytics, or to perform a search such as this one: (all data notes in the past year with our custom global field 'research type = primary research'). But searches do not show the number of search results so i'd have to manually count all the hundreds of results. Is it possible to help us get some counts of data notes matching certain filters? Hey Alex, I found my workspace's analytics in:
Settings > Analytics
Your Dovetail CSM is able to pull a more granular view on certain stats, like seat utilisation rates. I'm on the enterprise plan I think, so that might also make a difference.
thanks. The analytics is too limited though. For example, it will say the number of data notes but we have many data notes which are discussion guides, notes, demos, background documents etc, and we only want to count primary research / user interviews
Right. Yes I've noticed that too - it lumps a lot of stuff together and can be hard to parse out.
I agree. The analytics here should be part of the basic paid licenses. Enterprise level the expectations for analytics are higher, and there's a greater need to be able to demonstrate impact with meaningful numbers.
Hi Alex, Thanks for reaching out.👋 At this time, we don’t have the ability to provide more detailed workspace analytics. That said, we’ve received similar feedback before, and I’d be happy to add you to the feature request so our team can consider it for future updates.
In the meantime, if you have a CSM, you can reach out to them; they may be able to pull some additional analytics for you.
